Honoring the Past, Present, and Future: A Guide to Reflections, Celebrations, and Intentions

As we, facilitators and members of the Red Jasper Community, honor the longest night and darkness of the year-- the Winter Solstice-- we celebrate our "growth sprouts" of 2023, take a current inventory, and start contemplating intentions for 2024 as we step into the turning point of the new year and welcome longer daylight. And, we do all of this deeply in the realms of relationships, love, sex, and intimacy; which often only gets a cursory amount of attention, when in fact it should get a huge amount of attention!

Our sexual energy is the most creative force in our lives, whether we are using it to create humans, businesses, art, authentic connections and relationships, you name it. But, I get it, it's a little taboo, a little uncomfortable, to be talking so openly about love, sex, and intimacy. Building a culture of love, acceptance, respect, compassion, and gentleness is crucial for creating an environment where you feel safe, valued, and empowered in your ability to talk about and create the love, sex, and intimacy you truly delight in. This confidence will in turn fuel your mindfulness and pleasure practices, which then fuel your intimate and sexual interactions with yourself and others! 

We are excited to continue to dive into this important and juicy topic by giving you some vital tips, as well as create space for deep reflection, celebration, and intention setting. We hope you are excited too! (and if you're a little bit nervous, that's ok, we got you ❤️)

Tip #1 - Recognize the Smallest "Growth Sprouts"

As you embark on this introspective journey, it is crucial to acknowledge the progress you have made so far. Recognizing the milestones, accomplishments, and smallest of "growth sprouts" can fuel your motivation and determination for the year ahead. Take pride in the growth you have achieved and let it serve as a reminder of what is possible.

Tip #2 - Be Honest with Your Current Inventory

Examine your current state in terms of love, sex, intimacy, and relationships. Evaluate the areas where you excel and those that may need your attention. This honest assessment will lay the foundation for personal growth and development in the months to come. And... spoiler alert... there is always room for growth no matter where you are in life.

Tip #3 - Set Intentions Broadly or Specifically

With this newfound awareness, set your intentions for 2024. Or if that feels too daunting, set your intentions for the time period of the Winter Solstice to the Spring Equinox, which essentially coincides from the Gregorian New Year to mid-March. Your intentions can be broad and expansive or very specific. I myself find that my life is better when I make broad intentions such as, "I move through the world and my interactions with an open heart, love, and courage."

Tip #4 - Visualize and Really Feel Your Intentions

Visualize the kind of love, connections, and experiences you want to manifest. Use this as an opportunity to shape your future, align your actions with your desires and delights, and propel yourself towards a year filled with fulfillment, joy, and deep connections. By engaging in this reflective visualizing and feeling practice, you are creating a potent magnetic frequency of "winning" that resonates with the universe.

Tip #5 - Trusting the Process of Life

It is this positive electro-magnetic energy that will catapult your intentions into the stratosphere, allowing them to unfold and become a reality. So, embrace this moment of reflection, seize the opportunity, and watch as your intentions come to fruition. There's also the case for trusting the process of life, surrendering into divine timing, and having the patience to know right action; I could write an entire book on this subject, so I'll just leave you to contemplate those words.
